Hiking ReSupply

Hiking Resupply is an interesting project. The owner, Greg, needs an eCommerce, community oriented site capable of providing nutritional information, customized ship dates that can be months in advance, and a communication system which allows people to keep track of their loved ones while they are hiking the Appalachian Trail.

The ultimate goal of the project is to create a tool which will make hiking the Trail more accomplishable.

Due to scope and uniqueness, we expect this site to be a work in progress for the foreseeable future.

The features currently available to the general public include keeping track of shipment weight, diet management, direct contact with a nutritionist, and the ability to plan out the resources needed for a hike.

An unexpected result of the features that are already provided, has been a surge in the use of Greg's services to send supplies to friends and family in the military.

We are currently working with Greg to add new functionality that is oriented towards showing customers progress along the trail.
